Any changes will cost a flat rate of $5.00 per change either through the online registration and/or mail in registration.
All registration fees are in US dollars. A 1:1 exchange rate will be in effect for Canadian entries.
Weigh-In Friday, January 18th, 6-9:30 PM Saturday, January 19th, 7-8:00 AM
Junior weigh-in closes at 7:30am Saturday.
*Weigh-ins will be conducted at Kentlake High School in Room 1106 (just inside main entrance)*

MAKING WEIGHT AND/OR WITH INCORRECT OR INCOMPLETE ENTRY FORMS
(REQUIRING RE-POOLING) WILL BE CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL $20 REGISTRATION
FEE.
CURRENT REGISTRATION CARD REQUIRED!!! USJI, USJF, USJA, or Judo Canada cards will be
checked at registration. (Those without a current card must register at the tournament. Cost will be $50.00)
National qualification divisions must bring a copy of rank certificate or rank verified USJI card.

***2008 WASHINGTON STATE JUDO CHAMPIONSHIPS***
Competition Rules: Current IJF Rules will apply with the following MODIFICATIONS:
1. Juniors 12 years of age and under, will not be allowed to use chokes or arm bars
2. Youth 13 to 16 years of age, will not be allowed to use arm bars. (Exception: those youth entering a senior
division, will be guided by the CURRENT IJF RULES for that division)
3. Senior Novice Yonkyu and below, “shimewaza ONLY” and “NO kansetsuwaza” (chokes only, no arm
bars)
4. Senior Brown and Black Belt (Sankyu and above) CURRENT IJF RULES. Competitors will be required to
have both BLUE & WHITE JUDOGIs
5. Pre-2003 Medical rules apply for all junior, youth, and senior novice contested divisions. Current medical
rules apply to all senior brown and black belt contested divisions.
6. Under 9 male/female. Depending on number of entries boys and girls divisions may be combined. This will
be under the direction of the tournament director. The tournament director, participant’s sensei and
participant’s parents and/or guardian must sign the entry form stating that they are willing to have their child
participate in a boy/girl combined division.
7. New IJF boundary rules. New IJF boundary rules will be in effect.
8. Multiple division entries by participant. A participant can enter multiple divisions but must submit multiple
entries. A participant may play up a division if there are no entries in their division. In this situation where
there are no entries the participant/participant’s sensei and participant’s parents/legal guardian will sign that
they approved the entry into another division. They will not have to pay another entry fee.
NOTICE:
A. On April 30, 1998, the USJI Board of Directors passed a motion, in order to compete in the
Senior National Judo Championships event an athlete must be currently or formerly on the Elite
Senior A-E roster, or Junior A-D roster, or have competed in the most recent “Group B State
Championship.” If an athlete was unable to compete in his or her State Judo Championship, a letter
from the Group “B” President granting a waiver is required and will be accepted by the national office.
On October 13, 2000 WSJI passed a motion: “A $50.00 fee is required for a Group “B” President’s
Waiver”
B. Late entries will NOT be accepted!! All entries must be received by midnight on
Saturday, January 12

either by US postal mail and/or online.
C. Senior Brown and Black Belt (Sankyu and above) CURRENT IJF RULES.
Competitors will be required to have both BLUE and WHITE JUDO GI’S
D. Black Belt instructors MUST verify a competitor’s skill level and rank by signature on entry
form, to enter this event.

1 person per room – 1 queen size bed -$58.45 plus tax
2 persons per room – 2 queen size beds -$63.00 plus tax
4 persons per room – 2 queen size beds -$73.00 plus tax

Officials/Referee Meeting: 8:30 am, Room 1101
WSJI Meeting: WSJI will conduct a meeting in the Officials Break/Lunch Area (Room 1101) immediately
following the conclusion of competition and the final presentation of awards.
